These are a collection of nature images in some of the best possible light that I have witnessed and have captured on light sensitive mediums. These include natural landscapes, life around us, panoramas showing vistas wider than normal viewing and my own way of interpreting light, colors, tonal variations in nature in a way that nature inspires me to become an extension of myself. Featured category shows selected photographs from all of the categories. Please selected any specific gallery to view more.

[ about ]

I am an ardent nature lover and passionate nature photographer. I love to be in midst of nature to witness the dawn and the dusk. For me witnessing the passage of time and the fleeting moments in nature is as intriguing as capturing them on the camera. The more I get closer with nature more I reveal the finer intricacies within it. Nature inspires and unleashes the artist, philosopher and the photographer in me. I beleive my photographs are a testament to this philosophy.

Exhibition & Awards

In the quest to be a better photographer and to showcase my talent my photogprahs happened to be accepted at the Royal photographic Society in UK, Epson International Pano awards, International photo Awards and most lately into the finals of the most coveted nature and wildlife photography competition - the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2014.

I use Nikon cameras and lenses to capture the images. My kit consists of 35mm Nikon cameras, lenses ranging from ultra wide angles to super telephotos, special purpose lens like tilt shift and macros. I use Gitzo tripods, camera remote release, light meter, polarisers and neutral density filters from LEE.

Photography workshop

I share my knowledge on photography that I have acquired over a period of time through intense practise and field experience by conducting photography workshops at different levels. The most sought after is the basic photography workshop which will enable photography enthusiasts and hobbyists to understand the fundamentals of photography in a very simple and methodical manner. Please watch this space for any updates as and when dates are finalised.

Image post processing

I use the Photoshop software, made by Adobe, which provides the means by which I am able to recapture the light and feeling that existed when the exposure occurred.  The technical problems with the digital file aren't always straightforward and the solutions are rarely obvious.  The process of recreating the visualisation often requires a great deal of creativity.  But it is an enjoyable process.  As I revive the image I frequently find myself reliving the joy of being present with the light when the image was taken.  Far from being a mechanical process, print-making is every bit as creative as actually being in the field taking pictures.  It's a different situation, but it requires the same level of focus and attention.

Archival printing

I print on an Epson UltraChrome printer. It allows me to produce photographic images in my home studio using the latest inkjet technology.  The quality of the images is visibly superior to traditional photographs.  The colors are better, the sharpness unsurpassed, and the longevity of prints on the newest papers is excellent.  What I really like, however, is the level of control that an in-house printer provides.  I can now proof images nearly as fast as I can adjust the data in Photoshop.  It's exciting to watch the image progress not only on my computer monitor, but also as a hard copy that I can share with my friends and customers.
